“Ah se potessi riscrivere il passato…”

Chi non ha mai desiderato riavvolgere il nastro della propria vita per rimediare ad un errore,  rimangiarci una parola di troppo o terminare qualcosa che non abbiamo avuto il coraggio di fare.

Riscrivere il passato sarebbe fantastico, anche se forse il protagonista del film “Groundghog” non sarebbe d’accordo. Il povero protagonista, un uomo cinico e senza scrupoli, è costretto a rivivere continuamente lo stesso giorno.
Il passato si trasforma in una trappola che è destinata a ripetersi all’infinito finché Bill non riuscirà a capire le cose importanti della vita.

GROUNDHOG DAY (RICOMINCIO DA CAPO), starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell, is a 1993 romantic comedy and an ideal film for learning English. Its humorous and enjoyable plot (trama), the repetition of scenes, and the daily, colloquial dialogue, make it perfect for English language learners.

Bill Murray is a weatherman (meteorologo) covering the annual Groundhog Day festivities in a small town called Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. He hates being there, loathes (detestare) the assignment (incarico) and the people. Due to a blizzard (bufera di neve), he is forced to stay longer than he’d like. When he wakes up the following day, he discovers that it’s Groundhog Day again, and again, and again. Forced to relive the same day over and over, he steals money, attempts suicide, ends up in jail, and has a list of other adventures until he reevaluates his life, his values, and finally gets it right.
