Vocabolario/False Friends

I False Friends sono parole che possono trarre in confusione nella traduzione dall’inglese all’italiano o viceversa.
I Falsi amici, infatti, spesso assomigliano ad una parola di una lingua ma hanno un significato assai diverso.
In questi casi è facili cadere nell’errore e incorrere anche in qualche imbarazzante gaffe.
Immaginate di cercare un lavoro in inglese, in questo caso potreste chiedere al padrone di un locale se sta assumendo qualcuno ma fate attenzione o finire per domandargli se sta pensando a qualcuno!
Per evitare brutte figure osservate con attenzione la differenza tra il verbo to assume e to hire.
